These terms cover Cephas — the app for iPhone, iPad and Mac — and this website, including the web notetaker. Both are provided by Prairie Fire, LLC (“we”).

The app

Cephas is distributed through Apple's App Store and TestFlight. Unless a different agreement is shown on the app's App Store page, your use of the app is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, under which the app is licensed, not sold, to you. Nothing on this page takes away any right that agreement or the law gives you.

This website and the web notetaker

You may use the web notetaker, free of charge, to take the minutes of a meeting you have been asked to record. It runs entirely in your browser: what you type is kept on your device and is never sent to us — see the privacy policy. That also means we hold no copy of it. Keeping the device and the browser secure, sending your notes to the coordinator, and removing them from a computer that is not yours are up to you.

Your content

Everything you enter into Cephas or the web notetaker is yours. We claim no rights in it and, having no servers, never receive it.

Passcodes and encrypted files

Meeting files are encrypted, optionally under a passcode you choose. We do not know your passcode and cannot recover it or open a file sealed under it. If it is lost, send the meeting again under a new one.

Acceptable use

Please do not use Cephas or this site unlawfully, attempt to interfere with the site's operation, or present the software as your own. The name Cephas and its icon belong to Prairie Fire, LLC.

No warranty

Cephas and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We work to keep them accurate and dependable, but we do not promise that they will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Keep your own copies of anything that matters: print or save the minutes once they are in.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Prairie Fire, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss — including lost data or lost notes — arising from the use of Cephas or this website. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Not affiliated

Cephas is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by any religious organisation.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and the current version is always at cephas.mov/terms.
